The 7th Street Chojnackis

This is a collaborative effort to collect family recipes.

My idea is primarily to collect those recipes that we remember from our childhood days at 7th street, things like paczki, kielbasa, vinegar cake, sanbakel and the like.

Secondarily, we can share favorite recipes we've discovered over the years. I think we can feel free to ask for recipes of favorites from sibling weekends and other gatherings.

Part of the colaborative effort will be to determine the structure of the book. My suggestion is an initial chapter of reminiscences of family dinners, followed by a chapter on the primary recipes mentioned above. After that, we can go to a more traditional organizing scheme, e.g. salads, desserts, main dishes, breads, soups, beverages, and so on, with appropriate subdivisions.

I think anecdotes along the way would be fun, too.

I'll get things started with the things I'm most familiar with: Paczki and Kielbasa.

It'll be great to work together on this. Most important, we can share among ourselves, and create something we can pass along to our children.
